How To Reach Your Goals Faster This Year

For most of us, working towards what we want is what keeps our lives exciting and meaningful.

In last week's blog post, I wrote about my 3 new year's resolution for 2018 and I've since been setting my plans and goals to achieve them. Here, I would like to show you how I aim to achieve them.

Set simple and attainable goals

When you set many and larger-than-life goals, at some point, they might seem to be too overwhelming to reach and then you may get demotivated to get them done. So, it's best to keep goals to be realistic and easy to achieve if you wish to reach them faster. By all means, dream big dreams. I believe that nothing is impossible. However, try to break them down into attainable goals for a much smoother process.

Write it down where you can see it everyday

You know what they say, "out of sight, out of mind"? We want the reverse effect and, instead, keep reminded by your goals on a daily basis. So write it down on your daily planner, your diary or even a poster in your bedroom, your mirror and/or even fridge. No matter what, keep your goal in sight.

Day dream about it all the time

Sometimes thinking, day dreaming or really envisioning these goals as if they are real will somehow trigger your mind and actions to work towards them. So, imagine yourself after you've achieved all your desires and goals? Great feeling, right? :) This should help you get one step closer to them.

Set dates and deadlines

You are more likely to reach your goals by setting real dates on your calendar. Research shows that setting deadlines forces you to commit to your plans and so it's best to have them and get things done than not have them at all.

Start with yourself

Before working on external factors, to reach your goals, start with you. Depending on your goal, whether you are pursuing a higher position in your company or planning to learn a new language, work on developing your skills, personal brand and the way you present yourself or even present information/data. All these are intangeable assets that will add so much value to your life and ultimately to your goals.

Hoping, dreaming and planning are great. But if you can't put in the dedicated time, effort and commitment, they will never come to fruition. It's entirely up to you whether you come to reach them or not. So, investing the long hours and sleepless nights will be worth your while. Trust me.

In the comment section below, write down your top goal for yourself this year. How do you plan to achieve it? Do you have any tricks to help you achieve them that you would like to share with us? Let me know!
